Budgeting Your Maple Ridge or Lower Mainland Renovation

Welcome to our second blog post! This post is a continuation of our series ‘Working With WorkPro’. Back in April, we addressed how to begin the renovation process. If you haven’t read our first blog post ‘Looking to Renovate in the Lower Mainland?’, we recommend starting there.

Renovations and home improvements are a great investment into your property value as well as into your comfort and quality of life. However, it is very important to know what your budget is to maintain that value. Budgeting is a massive part of any renovation and contracting project, so it's important to be educated on setting yourself up for success!

The following are a few factors that can often change the cost of a project:

  • Structural changes to home/property, which require permits

  • Choice of finishing materials (prices of materials can vary greatly depending on a client’s personal taste)

  • Relocating fixtures, such as a shower, toilet, kitchen sink, dishwasher, etc. This can add to your budget as plumbing or electrical will likely need to be rearranged.

Before we start the renovation, WorkPro provides each client with a project estimate. In order to give clients the most accurate estimate, we always address if our clients have pre-established budgets, or need help creating a budget based on their vision for their home’s future.

Most importantly, we’re an honest and realistic team. Our renovation team and design partners have years of professional experience, and can help you assess what will fit (and not fit) within your budget.

Typically every client that approaches our team has a vision of their future spaces. But ultimately, it’s important to work with a team of experienced and professional renovators who are able to stay within any budget and create the space of our client’s dreams.

Next, our interior designers step in to help us execute your vision. Together, we'll arrange time to meet and plan out what your renovation will entail as a team. Stay tuned for our next blog post regarding this next renovation phase!
